1. Britney Spears

Following her mega hit ‘Oops I did it Again’ hitting the top of the charts, Britney Spears became a household name. On top of her talent for entertainment, Spears quickly became a notable fashion icon of the early 2000s. Her street style often included a bejewelled crop top paired with low-waisted pants.

One of her more iconic looks was an all-denim dress she wore to the 2001 AMAs alongside her boyfriend at the time, Justin Timberlake.

2. Christina Aguilera

When we think of 2000s fashion, we often think of Christina Aguilera. The popstar was known for being a quintessential style icon of the decade. In the early 2000s, Aguilera rocked platinum blonde hair with chunky black streaks, a diamond labret piercing and a striking smoky eye.

One of her more acclaimed outfits was a micro denim skirt paired with a striped scarf top. Aguilera then finished the look with a pair of lace up boots and a perfectly tilted pageboy hat.

3. Nicole Ritchie and Paris Hilton 

Nicole Ritchie and Paris Hilton were the definition of 2000s fashion. The pair starred on the reality show ‘The Simple Life’ together where they were stripped from their luxurious lifestyles and made to work. Both stars were known for wearing Von Dutch and Juicy Couture, sending the brands sales to skyrocket.

4. Christina Milian

Christina Milian grew to fame in the early 2000s after releasing several popular R & B songs including ‘AM to PM’ and ‘When You Look at Me’. The singer was notorious for showing off her sparkly belly button ring by wearing crop tops and low waisted jeans.

Her most iconic look was when she wore a white bomber jacket, low waisted jeans that revealed a matching white thong.

5. Beyoncé

Queen B has been making headlines for her iconic style since the beginning of the decade. Herself and Destiny’s Child were continually making headlines for their matching Y2K outfits. Most notably, the trio channelled their inner cowboy’s at the MTV Music Awards in 2001.

In the early 2000s, Destiny’s Child announced they were splitting and pursuing solo careers. For Beyoncé, this sky rocketed her into the spotlight. The singer transitioned into glamourous looks, including an eye-catching yellow beaded dress to the MTV Movie Awards in 2001.
