Today, most people have a perception of what ‘Supermodel’ means, yet very few have any knowledge of the term’s history. Though many say the Supermodel was born in the 1990s, the idea dates back more than a century.

Upon hearing ‘Supermodel’ many people conjure up the single monikers of “Linda”, “Naomi, “Christy”, or maybe even “Claudia” or “Cindy”.

Millennials might imagine more current memes of what a Supermodel is. ‘Heroin chic’ era stars like Kate Moss in her Calvin Klein ‘Obsession’ ads or today’s reigning Reality TV/social media star Kendall Jenner.
