Savage X Fenty Drops “Nothin’ But Net” With New See-Thru Collection

Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty brand has eked out a new path for diversity and inclusivity within the lingerie and intimate apparel industry. Her pieces cater to a range of shapes and sizes, previously excluded within most sexy lingerie ranges. The inclusive brand champions all body types, with the SXF motto proclaiming, “Something for every mood, every vibe, and everyBODY.”

The label is celebrating its fourth anniversary, with a new collection, “Nothin’ But Net”. And its launch arrives in time to meet the Spring/Summer 2022 catalogue. The new range comprises comfortable and laid-back style options using sheer fishnet fabrics. Additionally, a “Romance in Bloom” collection features intricate lace. The brand’s “Savage Not Sorry” signature styles are also launching in new colourways.

Cartier Unveils Limited Edition Skeleton Watch, “Masse Mysterieuse”

Cartier’s interpretation of the ultimate skeleton watch is the new limited edition Cartier “Masse Mystérieuse”. This piece pulls off one of the most intriguing visual feats in modern watchmaking. The watch movement is automatically wound via rotor, as automatic movements typically are. According to Cartier, this watch took 8 years of development to create. It is clear to see why Skeleton movements occupy a similar area of visual spectacle in horology, but the two concepts rarely intersect. To assemble a spinning watch movement that winds itself is an absurd concept, but Cartier pulls it off elegantly.

Cartier announces,

“At the heart of the Maison, time is not limited to being an objective datum. It is above all the basic element, constantly explored by the craftsmen eager to extract its quintessence”.

The watch is glaringly Cartier in style. From the fully polished sword-shaped hands to the ruby cabochon crown, this watch is an exquisite timepiece from start to finish. The mystery dial is one of the most dramatic styles in watchmaking. And it continues to capture the imagination of both enthusiasts and laymen alike after over a century of production.

2022 Met Gala – Green is the New Black

Sustainable fashion is the current trending topic in all the forums and for good reason. There has never been a better moment to put your money where your mouth is. Vintage and up-cycled fashion were all the rage at the 2022 Met Gala, with some of Hollywood’s biggest names looking inside their own closet, rather than creating a brand new look from scratch.

The focus of wearing vintage and up-cycled fashion is sustainability, and eco-friendly fashion is making its way onto the red carpet. The trickle-down effect will hopefully inspire fashion lovers worldwide to make more conscientious fashion choices when selecting new garments.

Some of the Met Gala’s hottest looks included vintage, re-used and up-cycled fashion, as seen below.

Wella Company has acquired Briogeo, “a fast-growing independent hair care company focused on eco-ethical and natural hair care products”. It is one of the largest independent Black-owned brands in the United States. As reported by Premium Beauty News, Annie Young-Scrivner, CEO of Wella Company, issued the statement:

“Briogeo’s high-growth, eco-ethical and natural hair care products complement our existing hair portfolio and sustainable offerings and will fuel our growth momentum in the hair category, which is now the fastest growing segment in beauty,”

Under the leadership of Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Nancy Twine, Briogeo has revolutionised clean and natural hair care, creating effective products with clean, naturally-derived ingredients. They offer products for all hair types, which in itself is revolutionary in the beauty industry.

Briogeo has been one to watch for several years now, growing quickly since its inception and earning the Allure Best of Beauty Award every year since 2018.

The addition of the Briogeo portfolio of prestige hair care complements Wella Company’s ambitions to excel at the forefront of sustainable beauty while delivering a range of more diverse products for all hair types. Wella Company is well on the way to expanding clean and green products across its portfolio offerings and is currently one of the leading major brands in sustainable beauty products.

MUSIC VIDEO OF THE WEEK

PSY – ‘That That (prod. & feat. SUGA of BTS)’ MV (Official Music Video)

The King of K Pop is back with another catchy pumping Gangnam style hit. Currently the top trending Music Video on Youtube, the clip has amassed close to 70 million views – quickly becoming another viral sensation. Produced by (and featuring) BTS’s Suga, That That feels like it could have spawned from any point in PSY’s career. It has the relentless energy of “Right Here”, the bounding percussion of “New Face” and – of course – the dance frenzy of “Gangnam Style”. With lyrics in a mixture of English and Korean, the video is literally a flash dance like K-Pop dance routine thrown into the midst of the Wild Wild West. If it sounds crazy… Well it is!

“That That” production-wise, is at its best when it leans into its Zumba beat and celebratory stabs of brass. This is the sort of song that pulls you along for the ride, and even at its most irritating you can’t help bopping along to the frenetic beat. PSY’s confidence is infectious, taking control of the most nonsensical material and performing it with conviction. As he rap’s in his wild west get up, “Pandemic’s Over,” we have to admit, it’s good to have some silliness back in the world.

Jurassic World Dominion | Trailer 2 (OMG)

Credit: Youtube

Are you as excited as we are? If, like me, you’re a die-hard fan who has been watching the Jurassic franchise since you were a tween, you probably can’t wait for the third and final instalment of the Lost World movies. From “Jurassic World” architect and director Colin Trevorrow, Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live–and hunt–alongside humans all over the world.

Featuring an all-star ensemble including the OG cast, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are joined by Oscar-winner Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill in “Jurassic World Dominion”. The breathtaking new adventure spans the globe, and the trailer shows off its superb use of CGI, with dinosaurs blending into the natural landscape, as seamlessly as if it were in-camera filming.

But while the trailer might have me anxiously awaiting the release date (June 10, 2022), it also leaves me with a plethora of questions. Aren’t dinosaurs cold-blooded – How can they survive in the snow? Will Bryce Dallas Howard once again be running cross-country throughout the majority of the film wearing another pair of painfully high heels? How does Laura Dern’s character look hotter now than she did in the original, filmed over twenty years ago? And last of all, has Chris Pratt finally found his calling as a Dinosaur Baby Daddy?
