“Loubi’s on the Beach” is a retail concept that on Monday, took over the Corner Shop at Selfridges London flagship.
The Christian Louboutin immersive pop-up features a boardwalk, beach huts, and an on-site lifeguard. But, if that’s not all you need, don’t fret. The pop-up also contains a kiosk that boasts a limited edition Christian Louboutin branded ice cream and chilled seltzer. The perfect summer combo, luckily London’s just reach their summer season!
All inspired by the Greek capital Athens and the Cyclades, an island group in the Aegean Sea, the summer collection features the brand’s “Greekaba” summer collection. As part of Louboutin’s annual ‘seasonal cabas‘ the collection celebrates the founders’ love of travel.
“This year, the Maison’s signature cabas takes you on a modern-day odyssey through Athens and the Cyclades inspired by Christian’s insatiable love of travel and brought to life by his dear friend Konstantin Kakanias’ playful illustrations.”
The collaboration between two creatives Louboutin and Kakanias pays tribute to the rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship of the Mediterranean.
The collection features two themes of, you guessed it, land and sea. The capsule, of both men’s and women’s shoes and accessories, evokes deep blues and brilliant whites, iconic to the picturesque environment and architecture of Greece. Colours of rich umbers and blacks of ancient greek pottery are also featured in the collection.
Greekaba Collection
As a lifelong lover of travel, the summer collection is to one of many launches, to celebrate Louboutin’s love of travel. The designer has brought the joy of island-hopping around the Greek Cyclades with a touch of seaside nostalgia, boardwalks and beach huts. And this year, a percentage of the proceeds will be donated to “Together for Children,” a Greek nonprofit association working to provide immediate and effective support to children, young adults with disabilities and their families in need.
