The 35-year-old English actor appears in all eight series of “Harry Potter” as Draco Malfoy starting as a teenager. After the actor’s relocation to Los Angeles, he became overwhelmed with the glitzy, star-studded lifestyle. Felton claims that in his mid-to late-20s, he “spent more hours, more nights, than I care to remember” at a Los Angeles dive pub called Barney’s Beanery in an effort to find a little piece of normality reminiscent of his upbringing.

Healing and Encouragement

The actor reveals he checked himself into a California Sanctuary which he characterises as “a haven for struggling young people” after breaking up with Olivia – his girlfriend.

Felton claims he broke the facility’s tight rules and was expelled after being discovered in a particular girl’s bedroom. He claimed that the three weeks in the programme “changed his life,” adding that “I had been existing in a condition of pure numbness” before to it.

According to page Six, the actor’s life took different turn when he meet with his lawyer. About the lawyer he writes “My lawyer, whom I’d barely ever met face to face, spoke with quiet honesty,” he wrote. “‘Tom,’ he said, ‘I don’t know you very well, but you seem like a nice guy. All I want to tell you is that this is the seventeenth intervention I’ve been to in my career. Eleven of them are now dead. Don’t be the twelfth.'”

Felton opened up about his struggle with mental health to his co-star Emma Watson as he writes “I was encouraged by a few people, Emma Watson specifically, to tell the whole story and not just sort of cherry-pick the fluffy bits,” he explains. “Not just because it was cathartic for me. But also in the hope that sharing those parts of my story will help others that are maybe not going through the best time.”
