The Simpsons Season 34 already includes a Halloween episode, however, this additional special includes three new Halloween parodies. The special includes segments from “The Babadook”, “Westworld”, and a full “Death Note” parody titled “Death Tome”; all included in the Treehouse of Horror XXXIII Halloween special. This is the show’s first real foray into the world of anime, pitting itself against the hugely popular “Death Note” series.

The Death Note tribute has already leaked online, giving viewers their first look at Marge and Homer depicted in a brand new way: anime!

The South Korean studio DR Movie produced some impressive animations for the short; with a reel that includes shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Batman (The Animated Series), and Teen Titans.

A brand new short depicts Lisa Simpson as the recipient of the potent “Death Tome”. The scene is in a polluted dystopian city, and Lisa laments the situation, saying, “The human race is 20 cow farts away from total extinction, and we deserve it.”

With her newfound power, Lisa will probably embark on a mission to change the world, encountering unexpected outcomes along the way. Disco Stu and the twins Sherri and Terri, as seen in anime, are teased in the background.

The Treehouse of Horror XXXIII episode is set to air on FOX stations on October 30, at 8 PM EST. The following day, it streams on Hulu.
