“MAKE KANYE WEST A BILLIONAIRE AGAIN” – YE FANS START A GOFUNDME PAGE

The artist formally known as Kanye West, “Ye”, is making headlines again this week. Supporters of the rap icon have set up several GoFundMe pages to assist the former billionaire in recouping his financial losses after a series of recent losses. Several GoFundMe pages, including one titled “Make Kanye West a Billionaire Again,” have a goal of raising $1 billion USD for the rapper.

The pages popped up online shortly after West was dropped by both Balenciaga and Adidas; the latter of which resulted in a $400 million loss and cost him his billionaire status. Both collaborations ended after Ye’s YEEZY show at Paris Fashion Week, where the rapper’s models wore “White Lives Matter” T-shirts.

After that, Ye attacked Vogue editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson and tweeted anti-Semitic slurs. Since then, JP Morgan Chase, GAP, Balenciaga, and Adidas have dropped Ye, his Instagram and Twitter accounts have been temporarily blocked, and Justin and Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, and Jaden Smith have all spoken out against his actions.

The media company’s CEO, Emanuel, also posted a heartfelt message in the Financial Times, urging more businesses to cut ties. The GoFundMe pages attempt to “make him a billionaire again,” AllHipHop reports.

As per Forbes, West’s contract with Adidas is worth $1.5 billion. Without that agreement, the artist’s net worth is estimated to be $400 million.

Since then, fans of Ye have come to the singer’s aid. On Monday, a series of GoFundMe pages have been established to help the disgraced rapper regain his financial status.

West has been in trouble over recent weeks following a series of anti-Semitic outbursts. One fundraiser was taken down after collecting just $5 – however, several others appear to remain active.

Since the Adidas drop, Ye has been escorted out of Skechers, removed from Apple Music’s Essentials playlist, and has lost the only two Donda Sports agency members.
