RIHANNA “SHINES BRIGHT LIKE A DIAMOND” DURING SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW

Barbadian singer, actress, and entrepreneur Rihanna dazzled the crowd during her jaw-dropping performance at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show.

Pop culture Queen Rihanna put on the show of a lifetime in what was her first vocal performance in seven years, making it one to remember as the greatest pregnancy reveal yet. Rolling Stone ranked her performance as the 8th best halftime show, capturing the attention of 28.5 million people around the globe, according to Forbes.

The star dazzled in a red silk Loewe catsuit designed by Jonathan Anderson, adorned with three vintage diamond brooches designed by Joseph Saidian & Sons, putting her baby bump on display for the world to see.

The 34-year-old sensation left fans speechless after revealing she was pregnant with her second child. She previously welcomed a son with A$AP Rocky in May of 2022.

Owning her new body, Rihanna continued to shine bright with Jacob & Co’s “Brilliant Skelton Northern Lights” diamond watch. The watch features 30 round-cut white diamonds and a 251 pavé set. She paired it with a diamond and ruby ring from the New York-based brand, Bayco. Her ring features 19.47 carats of ruby and 5.66 carats of trillion cut diamonds set on an 18kt gold band. The extent of gems ended with her Messikaa Jewellery earrings.

A Mindblowing 13-minutes

To complete her look, Rihanna opts for sneakers from the MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon collaboration instead of heels. The star later paired her look with an Alaïa puffer coat and matching gloves from designer Pieter Mulier.

Rihanna’s 13-minute performance left the crowd speechless as she managed to squeeze in a dozen of her most popular and highly anticipated songs and had fans up on their feet in an instant.

Her top hits like “Umbrella” includes performances suspended from a floating platform above the stadium. Backup dancers adorned in white were also suspended from surrounding platforms, shadowing the pop star.

Her performance at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show marked the end of her hiatus from the music industry. She later explained that she wanted to teach her son a valuable lesson about representing black people everywhere.

“To go on the biggest stage in seven years, something is thrilling about the challenge of it all. It’s important for the representation and my son needs to see that”

she tells Apple Music.

“That’s a big part of why I want to do this show, representing my country, representing immigrants, representing black people” the star explains.

Rihanna made history during her performance making it a memorable show for people across the globe, proving that working women and mothers can do it all. She ended the show with her global sensation “Diamonds” whilst suspended in the air, shining brightly in front of the crowd. The performance is already being described as one of the top ten halftime performances of all time.
