It’s DAY 25 in Napoli and out of the blue things take a twist to the unimaginable, as Roberts has a medical emergency one in which he faces a certain and agonising death, unless he can get immediate lifesaving surgery. TRIGGER TRIGGER ALERT ! THERE IS GORE.
Something snaps and all of a sudden he realises he is in a dire medical situation.
He is saved from certain death by a fast acting local GP who visits Roberts in his Hotel room and immediately organises an ambulance to take him to an Emergency ward for a major surgical procedure at the nearest hospital.
Roberts is alone in a foreign country in a foreign city, in agonising pain, with literally hours left to live. No one speaks English, so no-one can tell him what is going on. Roberts doesn’t even have a working SIM card in his iPhone and cannot message anyone. Roberts is rushed into emergency surgery for a major procedure, one that could save his life, without it Roberts is 100% not going to live through the night.
4 hours and 36 staples later, Roberts undergoes a Laparotomy procedure, a major surgical operation to treat his perforated abdominal and peritonitis. A fatal condition that can kill in less than 48 hours. It makes this EP of “80 DAYDS” a high drama and something of a ‘Reality show’.
