Well-known for the glam ’60s aesthetic, this premium fashion label is the brainchild of the late Paco Rabanne. Since its inception, Rabanne has been a huge name in the luxury fashion industry. Julien Dossena, the house’s creative director, has been continuing the legacy since 2013.

The Big Reveal

The Rabanne x H&M collaboration hit Paris’ opulent Club Silencio first, in pure Rabanne style. Some of the prominent guests in attendance at the event include Jared Leto, Damson Idris, Irina Shayk, and Elle Fanning.

What to Expect from Rabanne x H&M

Ann-Sofie Johansson, head of design womenswear and creative advisor at H&M, says in a press release:

“Rabanne’s metallic dresses are instantly-recognizable pieces of fashion history. We’re thrilled to bring a dazzling array of Rabanne designs to our customers with this sensational collaboration”

The collection’s signature metallic-mesh pieces derive from a mix of sustainable and conventional metals. This is a result of months of research and development on the part of both brands. Some of the more intricate items’ manufacturing comes from small production runs with a limited supply using handmade hooks. The line consists of clothing for men and women, shoes, accessories and an H&M Home décor capsule that complements the fashion collection.

Julien Dossena, creative director of Rabanne says,

“As a designer, I’ve always been interested in exploring hedonism and empowerment. I was very enthusiastic to work with H&M on a collection that will introduce Rabanne’s avant-garde energy to a wider audience in a democratic way”

In the past, H&M has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry like Karl Lagerfeld, Versace, Comme des Garçons, Balmain, Maison Margiela, Stella McCartney and most recently Mugler. Through these collaborations, the brand has offers limited-edition collections that make high-fashion more accessible.

The limited edition Rabanne x H&M collection will be available in selected stores and online at hm.com on 9 November 2023. Make sure you mark your calendars.
