This year’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade 44th celebration is held at the SCG, is set to feature over six thousand marchers and over one hundred and fifty floats this year.

Parade favourites such as the Dykes on Bikes, 78ers, First Nations are all on the schedule for attendance. Due to ongoing covid restrictions, a ticketed event is in place for this year’s festivities. For those at home, the entire parade is being broadcast on ABC.

The organisers explain in a statement,

“The display of queer extravagance has been lighting up Sydney for over four decades, and we’re back to shine a spotlight on our communities at the SCG, and to those watching live around the globe”.
