This week, a face-revealing event stormed Youtube – and it’s been trending ever since. 23-year-old Minecraft streamer, Dream, has a huge fan following in the gaming community. He has over 5 million followers on Twitter, 3.1 million Instagram followers, and 30.5 million subscribers on YouTube. On October 2, Clay cleared out the mystery behind his face for the last 3 years.
In the nearly 6-minute trending YouTube video, Clay is seen revealing his face from the mask and the reason behind it.
“My goal was to just start doing things, get out, meet creators, say hi to my friends finally, just get out in the world, be an actual creator, be a person,” he shared. “I’ve been bunkered up—you don’t know the people trying to leak my face, trying to find out what I look like. There’s too many. It’s just a tiny bit too much.”
He is seen clarifying the motive behind his face revealing at this particular time: “Probably a lot of you are wondering why now? Why are you finally revealing your face? You haven’t shown your face the entire time,” he says. “And it’s ’cause George, he’s my best friend, he’s been in the U.K. trying to get a visa to come to America to come move here, and move in with me and Sapnap….George is going to be in the airport, and I’m going to meet him for the first time. I’ve known him so long, it feels like my entire life.”
The Reaction
There are mixed reactions to the event. Some people on youtube are calling it another Rick Roll event. Whereas some say that he looks like Rumpelstiltskin from the “Shrek” film franchise. However, there are some positive comments, mainly about his teeth and face.
This event shows us how human beings love to romanticise mystery – and like to be surprised time and again. Check out the full clip below:
